Fellow First Responders, It is with great reluctance that I announce that we will be canceling the 2020 First Responder Games. It has been over 40 years without an entire cancellation, until now. We just cannot do it safely, and I would much rather be "in the news" than "make the news". The Covid numbers are not getting better, in fact they are probably getting worse. There is no sense possibly exposing fellow first responders, volunteers, and staff. I know we have a great event, and many participants look forward to it as time to get together and meet up with old friends and colleagues. Well old friends - we will do it again next year. Mark your calenders June 8-20, 2021. If you have registered for the 2020 event, you will automatically be rolled over and registered into the 2021 event. You need to do nothing. If you wish a refund, please email refunds@firstrespondersports.org. Please remember that the organization gets hit with a 3.5%transaction fee for every transaction - be it coming in to register or going back out as a refund. So, if you can help us out and limit the number of refunds, it would be appreciated. If, when the final schedule comes out and you still cannot make your event, we will still gladly refund your fees. Refunds can be requested until May 1, 2021. On a final note. We have had many participants, several coordinators, and many, many family members that have been directly affected by this pandemic. Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers with hopes for a speedy end to this chaos. See everyone next year. Stay Safe Scott Scherr First Responder Sports
